Few modern Mustangs tie themselves to movie history as closely as the Bullitt Mustang. Created as a tribute to the Highland Green Mustang driven by Steve McQueen in the 1968 film Bullitt, this 2008 edition brings that understated look to the S197 Mustang generation, backed by factory performance changes and only 28,000 miles.
This 2008 Mustang Bullitt is powered by a 4.6-liter three-valve V8 producing 315 horsepower and 325 lb-ft of torque. Ford gave the Bullitt a cold-air intake, a specific engine calibration, a higher redline, and a Ford Racing exhaust system. A 5-speed manual was the only transmission offered, paired here with a 3.73:1 limited-slip rear end. Special shocks and lowering springs sharpen the handling and give this S197 a purposeful stance.
Highland Green paint immediately recalls the Steve McQueen Mustang, and the spoiler delete, special Bullitt grille, and grey 18-inch five-spoke wheels keep the exterior clean and understated.
Inside, Dark Charcoal leather power sport seats are joined by Bullitt-specific gauges, trim, and numbered dash plaque. The Shaker 500 audio system includes AM/FM/MP3 capability and a six-disc changer. Four-wheel power disc brakes with ABS and traction control round out the equipment.
For anyone searching for a Bullitt Mustang for sale, this 28,000-mile example combines movie-inspired styling with meaningful factory performance changes and a V8 connected to a five-speed shifter.
