This 930 was sold new through Eckhardt Porsche-Audi in Oklahoma City on April 14, 1976. The original Porsche Warranty Voucher and Maintenance Record booklet identifies Roy Orbison as the first owner, with his name handwritten in the original owner section, along with the original dealer stamp and period service documentation. We also have the original owner s manuals, including Roy Orbison s name and handwritten signature, along with the original Porsche books, leather pouch, service records, registration documentation, and extensive paperwork retained with the car. Roy Orbison was one of America s most influential recording artists, known for timeless hits including Oh, Pretty Woman, Crying, and Only the Lonely, and was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. The story passed down with the car is that it was later sold to Roy s accountant before being stored in a climate-controlled garage for approximately 35 years.
