1963 Chevrolet Nova SS Restomod Pro-Touring

Description:

Chassis No.
30437K109231

The Chevrolet Chevy II arrived for 1962 as General Motors' answer to the growing demand for compact automobiles, offering buyers an economical yet stylish alternative to the company's larger full-size models. Simple, lightweight, and mechanically straightforward, the Chevy II quickly earned a reputation for reliability while providing an ideal platform for performance enthusiasts. By 1963, Chevrolet introduced the Super Sport package, adding bucket seats, special trim, and a sportier personality that hinted at the performance potential hidden within the compact chassis. Decades later, the early Nova has become one of the most desirable foundations for the Pro-Touring movement, where classic styling is seamlessly blended with modern engineering to create automobiles capable of delivering contemporary levels of acceleration, handling, and comfort. Starting life as a solid, rust-free Oklahoma example, this genuine 1963 Chevrolet Nova SS has been transformed through a meticulous two-year, ground-up restoration into a Pro-Touring restomod masterpiece. The quality of the craftsmanship has earned widespread recognition on the show circuit, highlighted by multiple First Place and Best in Show honors, including First in Class, Best Engine, and the prestigious Master Builder award at the Milwaukee World of Wheels. While the timeless factory body lines remain unmistakably Chevrolet, nearly every component beneath the metal has been redesigned, strengthened, or replaced to create an automobile that performs and looks entirely different. Finished in a brilliant custom tri-coat orange utilizing a gold pearl translucent mid-coat beneath a contrasting mirror-finish black roof, the Nova presents with exceptional attention to detail from every angle. The body was stripped to bare metal before refinishing, while laser-cut frame rails were fully welded into the floor structure to unite the front and rear subframes, dramatically increasing chassis rigidity. Under the hood, the level of execution becomes very apparent. Hidden wiring, concealed plumbing, and meticulous detailing showcase an engine compartment that is as clean as it is functional. At its center rests a 6.2-liter Chevrolet LS3 V-8 conservatively dyno-tuned to produce more than 550 horsepower, equipped with a Stage 2 camshaft, fabricated aluminum intake manifold, Holley fuel injection system, polished CVF accessory drive, oversized aluminum radiator with dual SPAL fans, ceramic-coated long-tube headers, and a stainless dual exhaust capped with Magnaflow mufflers. Power is delivered through a Tremec TR6060 six-speed manual transmission with a McLeod Racing clutch and hydraulic throwout bearing. The engineering beneath the body is equally impressive. A custom front subframe incorporates tubular Mustang II-style control arms, C7 Corvette spindles, sealed bearings, adjustable sway bar, and quick-ratio rack-and-pinion steering, while the rear features a RideTech triangulated four-link suspension with adjustable coil-overs and a fabricated Ford 9-inch rear axle fitted with an Eaton TrueTrac limited-slip differential. Wilwood hydroboost-assisted brakes working with C7 Corvette calipers and large disc brakes inspire confidence when braking, while staggered custom Budnik wheels wrapped in ZR-rated Nitto performance tires complete the purposeful stance. The result is a Nova that accelerates, corners, and stops with the confidence and composure expected of a modern performance machine. The custom interior reflects the same high level of craftsmanship as the rest of the build. Four individually trimmed bucket seats, a handcrafted full-length center console, Dakota Digital HDX instrumentation, billet controls, an Ididit steering column, Vintage Air climate control, power windows, and a flush-mounted Alpine touchscreen infotainment system combine modern comfort with exceptional craftsmanship. Hidden audio components, including a 1,600-watt amplifier and concealed subwoofer, preserve the cabin's clean appearance, while the custom multilayer headliner and hand-finished details further demonstrate the fabrication invested in the project. Combining award-winning craftsmanship with unmistakable performance, this exceptional Nova SS is far more than a beautifully restored classic. It represents thousands of hours of thoughtful engineering and meticulous execution, resulting in a Pro-Touring restomod build thats truly one of a kind and one that will further win top honors at shows and the admiration and applause of onlookers. * Meticulous award-winning, multi-year restoration and build * Milwaukee World of Wheels Master Builder award winner * Milwaukee World of Wheels Best Engine award winner * Impressive 550-HP LS3 6.2-liter V-8 engine with a host of industry leading parts * Tremec TR6060 six-speed manual transmission with a McLeod Racing clutch From the Kruse Auctions
