Long before SUVs became the default family hauler, full-size station wagons ruled the American road trip. This Buick Roadmaster Estate Wagon represents one of the last great examples of the breed, combining room for the family with woodgrain styling and the same LT1 V8 architecture that powered some of GM's best-known performance cars of the era.
Under the hood is a 5.7-liter LT1 V8 paired with a 4L60E four-speed automatic transmission. A GM 10-bolt rear with 2.56:1 highway gears suits the relaxed cruising personality of this Buick Roadmaster wagon, and factory dual exhaust gives the V8 a little extra voice. Power brakes with front discs handle stopping duties.
Bright White paint pairs with traditional woodgrain accents for the unmistakable Buick woody look. Fifteen-inch styled aluminum Buick wheels wear new whitewall tires, completing the classic long-roof look.
Inside, the Ruby Red leather split-bench interior offers plenty of room, plus power seats, windows, mirrors, locks, air conditioning, and Twilight Sentinel lighting. The factory AM/FM/cassette radio adds another period touch. Out back, the clever tailgate can either fold down or swing open, and a rear-facing third-row seat adds even more passenger capacity.
For anyone searching for a Buick Roadmaster for sale, this Buick station wagon has all the ingredients for a memorable family road trip. Load the luggage into the back, fill the seats, and let this Buick Roadmaster station wagon settle into the highway with LT1 V8 power leading the way.
