1971 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu For Sale

This 1971 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu Sport Coupe was acquired in 2023 and has since undergone a comprehensive, documented restoration completed between February 2024 and November 2025, said to show roughly 195 miles since the build's completion. The dashboard and door cards are original to the car, while nearly everything mechanical beneath them engine, transmission, suspension, and rear end has been rebuilt or replaced with new components, with receipts on hand for the major work.
Power comes from a blueprinted 383 long block, purchased and installed in March 2024, fitted with Blueprint aluminum cylinder heads and billet aluminum pulleys. Fuel and air are handled by an Edelbrock Performer intake topped with a Thunder Series AVS2 carburetor rated at 800 CFM, backed by an Edelbrock Performer series mechanical fuel pump, with an MSD Street Fire HEI distributor providing spark. Long-tube headers feed into a ceramic-coated Flowmaster Super 44 Delta Series exhaust, and cooling is handled by a three-row aluminum radiator. Behind the engine is a TH350 automatic transmission, installed in October 2025 with a 10-inch racing torque converter and a B&M Quicksilver shifter. Power reaches the ground through a GM 8.2-inch 10-bolt rear end fitted with a 28-spline Yukon Dura Grip posi-traction unit and 4.10 Yukon ring-and-pinion gears.
Braking is handled by front discs and rear drums, backed by a Delco power brake booster and a Corvette-style cast-iron master cylinder. The car rides on American Racing Vintage Torq Thrust wheels, 15x8 in a satin black finish, wrapped in Cooper Cobra GT tires 225/60R15 up front and 235/60R15 out back. Inside, the original dash and door cards carry over from the factory, now paired with new ProCar 90 Series bucket seats and a matching rear bench, both fitted to new seat frames installed in January.
1971 was the last model year before Chevelle's platform redesign for 1973, and clean second-generation Malibu coupes like this one have become a popular starting point for driver-focused restomod builds. This one pairs its factory sheet metal and largely original interior with a fully rebuilt drivetrain, braking, and rear-end package, and with 4.10 gears backing the 383, it's set up for real street performance rather than just show.
