This is a 3,374 Mile car from new! Only 2,066 V12 SL 600's were produced in 1993 at a cost of nearly $120,000, when the average cost of a car at that time was $16,000. This car shows single ownership on carfax and has all of its owners manuals. The R129 or fourth generation of the SL was launched for the 1989 model year and would be built and sold until 2001, a pretty short run considering the R107 was built and sold for nearly twenty years. The idea was the same but the new design was light years ahead as to be expected. The v12 monster put out 389 HP but would only be .1 seconds faster in the 0-60 times against the V8 version mostly due to weight difference between the two power trains. The car is a true time capsule that is in absolutely perfect shape with just a couple small cosmetic issues, the first is a sagging headliner on the hard-top which is age related and the other is a small scuff on the rear bumper as noted in the pictures. The rest of the car is in impeccable condition including the underside where the factory stickers and markings are still very visible. The paint appears to have never had anything touch it and is like it was when it rolled off the showroom floor. The hardtop has never been off the car....ever, and I was not going to be the first one to do it. This SL 600 starts, idles, sounds and drives like a brand new car with everything in unmolested working order. The leather seats are fantastic as is the rest of the interior.
