Description:
This 1964 Plymouth Fury is a red-over-red two-door hardtop coupe powered by a Wedge V8 linked to a three-speed automatic transmission, the latter of which was rebuilt and fitted with a billet torque converter in preparation for the sale. The engine is said to displace 426ci, and it is further equipped with dual Edelbrock four-barrel carburetors, a cross-ram intake setup, a revised ignition module and coil, Doug's headers, and an adjustable fuel pressure regulator. The car rides on body-color 15 steel wheels with Hoosier slicks out back, and further elements include front disc brakes, CalTracs bars, a custom exhaust system, chrome bumpers, Stewart-Warner auxiliary gauges, and a black hood stripe.
Interior:
The front bucket seats are upholstered in red vinyl and are joined by a matching rear bench and color-keyed carpets. The steering wheel wears a semi-circular horn ring and fronts a 120-mph speedometer and supplementary gauges and warning lights. Stewart-Warner readouts for oil pressure and coolant temperature are mounted below the dashboard.
Exterior:
The car is finished in red with a black hood stripe, and further styling elements include a hood ornament, a chrome side mirror and bumpers, and quarter vent windows. Body-color 15 steel wheels are mounted with Nexen front tires and 275/60 Hoosier slicks out back.
Drivetrain:
The TorqueFlite three-speed automatic transmission was rebuilt in preparation for the sale. The engine is a 426ci Wedge V8 with dual four-barrel carburetors and a cross-ram intake manifold.
