Survivor Classic Car Services Chicago is extremely proud to present this immaculate 1968 ford Mustang GT500KR convertible. Wearing a smooth coat of Acapulco blue paint over a black interior with a white vinyl top, this Mustang has stunning presence. The Mustang had been meticulously restored according to the included Marti report, with the only deviation being the alloy wheels, although the original steel wheels and correct hub caps are included with the Mustang. The restoration was started in the mid 1990s and completed in the early 2000s. Since then, only about 5 miles have been put on the Mustang, making it about as close as you can get to a factory new '68 Mustang GT500KR.
The GT500 was the top of the line... until the GT500KR came along. The "RK" stands for "King of the Road," and meant you get a 428 cubic inch Cobra Jet V8 with a factory claimed 335 horsepower, but independent tests put that number closer to 400-425. It was not uncommon to under-rate horsepower numbers to insurance purposes in the late '60s. Additionally, the KR package loaded the Mustang up with a roll bar, heavy duty suspension, a 140mph speedometer, fiberglass trunk lid and hood, a strut tower brake, and a few other goodies.
The underside of this GT500KR is at least as clean as the top, if not cleaner. A recent tune up has this Mustang running like a top to prepare it for sale. This museum-grade Mustang is the perfect addition to any collection, or a great way to start one. Ford the bold, one cruise in this will have you smiling from ear to ear from the moment the engine fires over, until well after it has been parked.
