Powering this beast is a date-coded 426 cubic inch HEMI V8, paired with a 4-speed manual G-Force transmission and a Black Magic racing clutch. Originally built as a Plum Crazy HEMI 4-speed car, this Challenger was transformed into a Pro Stock backup for racing legend Mike Fons and hails from the original Rod Shop Car out of Columbus, Ohio. This very car went on to win the NHRA Pro Stock World Championship in 1971. Built on a John Holt chassis, it is currently capable of blistering 8.80-second quarter mile passes. Performance upgrades include aluminum heads, a Tunnel Ram intake with Dominator carburetors, and a Dana rear end geared to 4.88. Additional race-ready features include a Simpson parachute, wheelie bar, Mark Williams quick-disconnect carbon steering wheel, Auto Meter gauges, Painless wiring, hardwood fuel cell, and much more.
