1956 Pontiac Catalina 2-dr Hardtop. Powered by a Strato-Streak 317 ci. Pontiac V8 and backed by a 3-speed automatic. The powertrain still retains a generator and is in survivor stock condition with lots of very original parts. Recent brake work means new Master Cylinder has been installed, and the car has gone through our shop with a full inspection. A few minor weeps, here and there like any old car that hasnt been rebuilt. Repainted at some point in its factory correct two-tone light sky blue and colonial white with loads and loads of nice chrome! Besides 1 or 2 paint chips, the paint is excellent and the chrome and brightwork is all very nicely restored! Like any mid-50s car, this one sits up a little higher in the front and a little lower in the rear, giving it that swept back look. Along with the fender skits, the Continental kit adds more length and really make the car feel long and fast! That continental kit holds a real spare tire, and in the trunk, is what appears to be an original white wall spare tire from 56! It would be no good as a spare, but its neat as a time piece to show off at a car show! The four road-going white wall tires are new within the last 3 or 4 years and have accumulated virtually no miles since then. Steel wheels were also recently repainted to match the body perfectly. The factory wheel covers still gleam! Being a Pontiac and not a Chevrolet, the car is just a bit more decorative than a 5-6-7 Chev. Theres just a bit more chrome, and a bit more glitz and glam! The waterfall hood chrome and flying jet hood ornament are super classy, iconic and so cool to see stretching out on the hood in front of you when youre in the drivers seat. The interior has been recently fully restored! All new carpets, seat skins, headliner, and restored side panels and door panels. The dashboard was repainted, and all the chrome and trim are still in nice shape. The factory radio and clock are no longer working, but the gauges all appear to work just fine! This has some unique space aged gauges and controls not found in the Chev models. Bottom line, its a boulevard cruiser " a good ole girl that wont win any races but turns heads with style and looks! Car shows 1300 miles on the odometer, and its unclear if its just recently rolled over, or was reset at some point. True milage is unknown.
