Factory-built as a 1952 Chevrolet 3600 3/4-ton work truck assembled in Kansas City, this Advance-Design pickup began life as a utilitarian hauler before undergoing a comprehensive frame-off restoration completed in 2021. The truck was fully disassembled and reengineered into a modernized street machine while retaining key visual elements that reflect its early-1950s heritage. The result is a professionally executed restomod that blends classic Chevrolet truck design with contemporary performance and drivability.
The body was carefully refined during restoration, including shaved drip rails and smoothed cab corners for a cleaner roofline and profile. Factory-style emblems were retained, along with both the front and rear bumpers, preserving a recognizable Advance-Design appearance. The running boards sit low and tight to the body and integrate side-exit exhaust outlets. The truck rides on 17" paint-matched steel wheels that reinforce its monochromatic presentation. Finished in a deep pearlescent shade known as Proud Navy Pearl, the exterior has a rich, layered appearance in natural light. The bed is detailed with a wood floor featuring blue-stained panels that complement the exterior color scheme while maintaining a traditional truck aesthetic.
Power comes from a 5.7L LS1 V8 that was rebuilt and upgraded internally during the restoration. It is equipped with a Holley Terminator X engine management system and an LS2 intake manifold. The engine is paired with a 4L60E automatic transmission and sends power to a Ford 8" rear axle with 3.55 gears and a limited-slip differential. Exhaust exits through a stainless steel system fitted with Black Widow mufflers. The chassis has been modernized with a Mustang II front suspension and a 4-link rear setup, supported by coilover shocks at all four corners. Wilwood four-wheel power disc brakes provide stopping capability, and the truck features power rack-and-pinion steering for improved road manners.
The custom interior continues the coordinated presentation with low-back Procar bucket seats and a body-matched center console. A body-matched dash houses Dakota Digital instrumentation, a Custom Autosound head unit with Bluetooth capability, and controls for modern air conditioning. The doors feature custom aluminum skins designed to create a subtle two-tone effect against the painted surfaces. The overall layout maintains a clean, cohesive look while integrating contemporary comfort and convenience features.
Now configured in 3100-style short-bed form, this Chevrolet pairs upgraded chassis hardware with proven LS1 power and timeless Advance-Design styling. Restored to a high standard in 2021 and finished in deep Proud Navy Pearl, it stands as a carefully executed restomod that delivers modern performance beneath unmistakably classic lines.
