1968 Plymouth Roadrunner 440 - 4-Speed - Factory Color

Description:

1968 Plymouth Road Runner 2-dr Hardtop. Fender tag confirms this is a true 383, 4-speed car right from factory! Its now sporting a nicely warmed up 440!! Original equipment included red sidewall tires, 2.94 rear axle, Vinyl Split bench seat with front center armrest in black, monotone Bright blue metallic paint, 26-inch radiator, am radio, and performance hood treatment. A few things have clearly been added to the car, but they only make the experience better! The car has been repainted in the correct factory color on the exterior and under the hood, but the trunk has been refinished in a black/spackle finish. Rear quarters were replaced during the restoration and hood pins were added along with fender signal indicators. The car is wearing the correct black road runner decals too! Dual exhaust with chrome tips poke out the back of the bumper now. The brand-new chrome mag wheels arent stock but certainly fit the part and look period correct, especially with white letter BF Goodrich Radial T/As. Overall, the car has a great look and sound. The interior is black, just like it should be with the door cards, headliner, dash, carpets and and upholstery in very nice condition. Its clearly had an extensive renovation. It appears the front bench was swapped for a bench without the armrest like the fender tag calls for. The glove box holds the original operation instruction manual and handwriting inside indicates the car was sold new at J Moats Motor Sales in Circleville Ohio on November 27 th, 1967, to a Mr. Jack Shaw. Neat to have some history with the car. The car still has the factory radio, but now also sports a set of vintage aftermarket gauges below that. The car has a tachometer and full gauges in the original cluster, but the Mopar tach on the steering column displays rpm now. The shifter has a Hurst handle, but the white pool ball original shift knob is in the glove box. The car shows 91,000 miles, but with a 5-digit odometer, and engine swap, true milage is unknown. Besides the 440 transplant there are a few mods under the hood as well such as an aluminium rad with electric fan, MSD distributor, wires and coil, headers and power front disc brakes. Behind that is a brand-new McLeod performance clutch. A bit of wiring has also been updated. The 440 was completely rebuilt at Bel Engine services in Edmonton in 2012 at a cost of $15,000. Its now got roller lifters, forged pistons, Edelbrock Performer aluminium heads and a comp cam installed. It was balanced and blueprinted and all technical specs from the build come with the car. The rear end has been upgraded to 3:23 sure grip axle, along with sway bars. Currently the heater is not hooked up in the car. The car has been detailed and will still go through our shop for an inspection and fine tuning! Overall, a very nice Mopar thats going to be a ton of fun to drive!
