Introduced as the first true sporting variant of the 3 Series, the 323i combined classic BMW engineering with a more powerful six-cylinder engine, creating a car that delivered both refinement and spirited driving dynamics. At its heart was a 2.3-liter inline-six engine producing approximately 143 horsepower, paired to a 5-speed manual transmission. Thanks to Bosch fuel injection, the 323i provided smooth power delivery and excellent throttle response for its era.
