1986 Rolls Royce - Silver Spur
The Rolls-Royce name has fallen under different owners over the years but can be tracked all the way back to the early 1900s. It is closely tied to luxury and high end vehicles owned primarily by the upper class. These British cars were packed with all the bells and whistles available at the time they were created. The Silver Spur started being produced in 1980 and is the long wheelbase version of the Silver Spirit. With their more spacious interior and premium amenities it was a popular choice for chauffeured transportation. These were also the first line to have the retractable spring loaded "Spirit of Ecstasy" hood ornament that has become an automated feature on the current cars. This 1986 is an excellent condition throughout and is painted in White with the optional Tan Landau top that gave the cars a more formal look. Matching Tan pinstriping can be found running the length of each side. The iconic central front grill is nicely chromed and sits between the very recognizable double headlights that create a front end appearance that is very unique to these cars. It has the stock front/rear chrome bumpers and all of the lighting works correctly. The car rides on its original 15 inch wheels with RR hubcaps and Vogue radial tires.
The motors in these cars were the 6.75 L V8 which runs great. Everything under the forward tilting hood is very stock and clean. A more modern R134a compressor has been installed and the AC blows cold. These cars just glide down the road and the brakes, suspension, etc are all good.
The interior of the car is in great condition and just adds to the luxury experience. The plush tan leather upholstery is very clean with no notable rips or tears. The carpeting is a dark Brown and very clean as well. The dash features all of the original components including the wood grain trim and has a carpeted aftermarket dash cover. The stereo has also been replaced with a more modern Kenwood system that sounds great. Power windows, power seats, power locks, these cars had it all. They even have the retractable folding wood grain tray for rear seat passengers.
