This Mercury was a one family owned car until I purchased it in 2022 from the son of the original owner.
The original owner worked for Frank DeRosa known as Mr. Merc and modified the car around 1963 into a California mild custom. The dad eventually passed the Merc on to his son and sometime around 1991 the son worked at Lucky 7 speed shop in California as a mechanic, Lucky 7 was one of the iconic shops in Ca at the time. Chip Foose happened to be at the shop at the time the Merc was being transformed into a more suitable driver and showed me pictures with him at the Lucky 7 shop when we had the Merc at the last Shades of the Past rod run in Tn. I even have the original plate from 1963 plus several others. The owner was a master mechanic as I changed a belt on the car and added an electric fan, it took a gorilla to remove the bolts, all the work was spot on.
First and foremost, it a great driver as we have put a lot of miles on it without any issues.
