While every generation of GM's halo car has a strong argument for which one is best, the C2 is always in contention. Taking things a step further, arguably the best and most exciting version of the second-generation Corvette was the remarkable Grand Sport. Under that aggressive, louvered, front-hinged hood, we find a highly modified naturally aspirated 350 cubic-inch V-8 engine. Beginning with a Vortec block, this small block gets aluminum heads, a GM aluminum intake manifold, a single four-barrel Demon carburetor, an HEI ignition, an aluminum radiator, an electric fan, and long-tube headers feeding into those glorious-sounding side pipes. That power is routed through a Tremec TKO five-speed manual transmission before being sent out to the rear wheels.
