WWII was just around the corner, but Chevrolet produced just over 15,000 of the Special Deluxe 2 Door Convertibles. The 1941 Chevrolet Cabriolet presented at auction underwent a high end restoration, likely a number of years ago. Having been in Colorado for a number of years following the restoration, the underside of the car appears very solid, as evidenced by the pictures.
This yellow paint is showing wear consistent with the likely age of the restoration and the car being enjoyed as a driver. The paint is thin in some spots, there is minor cracking, but overall the car shows well. All chrome and brightwork is present and has great shine. The red accents in the chrome and stainless, as well as the convertible top, ties the interior and exterior together well.
The dark red interior upholstery shows well. New upholstery, carpet, door panels and convertible top were included in the restoration. The simulated wood grain dash and all interior chrome show very nice as does all dash components. An aftermarket temperature and oil pressure gauge were added for peace of mind while driving. 66K miles are showing on the odometer, but is not confirmed to be original.
This Cabriolet presents very well. The beautiful red interior, extensive chrome, wide whitewall tires, fender skirts, yellow body and black convertible top is accentuated by the timeless pre-war styling by Chevrolet.
