Together with the Ranchero, the El Camino proved that there was an American market for a sedan-based utility vehicle that could perform most of the duties of a light truck. Additional features include power steering, power front disc brakes, a TH400 automatic transmission, correct blue bucket seats (765) with console, full instrumentation, a factory 4-link rear suspension with 12-bolt carrier, a newer AM/FM/iPod audio system, and plenty of rubber (215/65R15 F, 245/60R15 R) wrapped around American Racing alloy wheels that resemble the original Magnum 500's.
