1972 Chevrolet Nova

Description:

Performance driveline and chassis with a show quality appearance! Built and lived in California until we nabbed it! Only about 1,000 miles on the body off restoration. This one is dialed in!

EXTERIOR: Clean, straight body with a cowl hood. Absolutely striking two stage PPG silver paint job! It is extremely shiny and applied with great attention to detail. Yenko style black stripes ties together nicely with the grill and SS tail panel. The stripes are decals and can be removed. All the chrome looks new including the anodized trim around the window frames. The stainless is polished like chrome. It has dual bowtie mirrors and a custom cutout rear bumper with the exhaust exiting right through it. New windshield and weatherstrips. The 18 inch Boss mags compliment the color scheme beautifully.

INTERIOR: Zero disappointments here! It is very tidy, new from carpet to headliner. Upgraded with ProCar reclining bucket seats, rear seat is reupholstered. The console has a cushioned armrest and cup holders. Down on the floor is new carpet without a wrinkle and a Hurst 5-speed shifter sticking out of the hump. All new door panels, armrests and window cranks. The dash area is very clean. New dash pad, new deluxe wheel on a tilt column. Upgraded with Vintage Air electric controls. It has a modern stereo with kick panel speakers and 6x9s in back. There is a set of white face gauges and tachometer mounted below the dash.

ENGINE COMPARTMENT: A stout, fully balanced 383 stroker motor with 445 horsepower on the Dyno is the powerhouse behind this street machine. Built with performance in mind, there is no shortage of high-end internal components: 4 bolt Main block, Scat crank and rods, Icon forge pistons, ARP bolts, AFR aluminum heads, Comp Cam with hydraulic lifters, Edelbrock RPM intake, Holley Brawler 750 carb, MSD billet distributor, and a set of coated long tube headers. An aluminum Be Cool radiator with a big electric fan and an aluminum water pump keeps it cool. New Vintage Air heat and a/c system. It also features power steering and power brakes to add to the overall streetability. The black air cleaner and Chevy bowtie cast aluminum valve covers give this motor a menacing look. The engine compartment is very tidy and proper.

TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Under the trunk lid and the jamb are painted as slick as the car. The weatherstrip is new. Inside is bone dry, clean metal. The battery is relocated to the trunk. It is secured and has a disconnect switch.

UNDERSIDE: The undercarriage is fully restored with a fresh and clean look. The frame and all components were removed. The front end steering and suspension was completely rebuilt. Upgraded tubular upper and lower control arms with adjustable coil over shocks keep this Nova driving smooth. It has added frame connectors that tie the front to the back and prevents body twist. The rear suspension was completely rebuilt, everything looks new: springs, bushings, hardware and upgraded KYB gas shocks. All new brake system and upgraded with drilled and slotted disc at all four wheels. E-brake is hooked up. Doug's coated headers tied to a Pypes custom system with X-Pipe and Magnaflow mufflers have this 2 1/2 inch dual exhaust sounding absolutely sweet. If you are feeling like a bad boy, you can hit a switch and open the electric dumps and hear the roar right off the headers! Looking up at the motor it is spotless and has an extra capacity Mildon oil pan and a high torque starter. Upgraded Tremec 5-speed transmission appear very clean too. A 10 bolt rear end with 3.42 gear ratio posi transfer power to the ground. The bushings and leaf springs all appear to be replaced during restoration. Original rust-free floors. The metal is smooth semi-glass black.

SERVICE: We inspected the car and replaced the plugs, gave it an oil change, adjusted the timing and the carb. We fixed the reverse lights, horns, replaced the ignition switch, charged the air conditioning, replace the power steering pump, replace the brake light bulb, repaired a rear running light, fixed the rear window crank, and adjusted the e-brake.

This is an exceptional car. It is tidy and proper in, out and under. It has the features you want that will make driving something you will want to do often!

I, Jay Grams, take pride in personally writing the descriptions for virtually every car for about the last 30 years now. A significant amount of effort goes into fact checking. What I am offering is my professional impression of the vehicle. Our salesmen are happy to assist with descriptions and making sure your questions are answered. One great suggestion is letting us do a walk around video that explains the car's condition in detail. **These cars are displayed in a museum. If interested in a particular car, make an appointment with a salesman to see that car. Without an appointment there is an admission fee to enter the showroom. If you buy a car, your admission will be refunded, and you will be given a 1 year membership.
