1969 Oldsmobile 442 Low Mi CA Survivor, Orig Paint & INT, A/C, 8-Track

Description:

It could be argued that, as far as muscle cars were concerned, the late 1960s belonged to General Motors. The Chevelle SS, Oldsmobile 442 and Pontiac GTO all had a winning combination of handsome styling and high performance that made them icons of that thrilling era. We are proud to offer an especially desirable example of GMs impressive muscle car lineup: a 1969 Oldsmobile 442 coupe from California that has been obviously pampered since new. This incredibly original 442 must be seen and driven to be believed. Still sporting its original Aztec Gold paint with factory optional hood pinstripes, the body of this 442 is rock-solid with even gaps on those arrow-straight panels. A few very minor dings are the only notable flaws. Underneath, it's obvious that this car was a treasured California car, as the frame and floors are so clean we'd eat lasagna off of them. Brilliant chrome and stainless-steel trim along with a set of factory Super Stock II wheels fitted with BF Goodrich Radial T/As round out the 442's massive curb appeal. Inside it's the same story as the original black upholstery looks as if it belongs in a well-cared for five-year-old car, not one that is over ten times that age. And there's no boring bench seat here, as the 442 features bucket seats along with a center console. Among the many factory options this car has are air conditioning, tinted glass and an AM/FM radio with the very rare 8-track player. Under the hood is the factory-issued, matching-numbers 400 4-barrel V8 that sends the power to the rear wheels via the original TH400 automatic transmission. Power steering and power front disc brakes (with a new power booster and master cylinder) along with the 442's standard front and rear anti-sway bars make for an easy-driving and surprisingly agile muscle car. In fact, back in the day and thanks to its firmer suspension calibrations and those anti-sway bars, the 442 was known as the best-handling car in its class. And the late-'60s rocking melody coming out of the (new, factory-style) exhaust is the perfect soundtrack for those weekend backroads drives and trips to your local Cars and Coffee. With just 68,436 actual miles from new, this amazing survivor also boasts maintenance receipts, the owners manual, and a clean title. Remember, they're only original once. Please call Carroll Street Auto at (603) 627-5595 for further information or to schedule time to view this fantastic 442. Financing is offered through our approved lender, trades are considered, and enclosed shipping can be arranged.
