2014 Chevrolet Corvette

Description:

16,414 original miles. Extremely well maintained, never abused, raced, or wrecked. 1LT option package, automatic, great color combination. Nicely documented. A cool, low-profile Stingray ready to enjoy immediately.

The C7 Corvette might just be the best car GM ever built. Seven generations of improvements, building on knowledge of giants, ending up with the ultimate front-engined Corvette that has as much performance as they could manage. The only way to make this car faster was to put the engine in the back. Add in the fact that it's smooth, quiet, comfortable, and even gets decent fuel economy, and you end up with a car that's really a no-brainer when it's time to buy a toy. And the one you want is a super clean example like this 2014 Stingray, which has just over 16,000 original miles. Beautifully maintained with zero modifications, it has been a fair-weather toy since it was born and that means no surprises down the road. We're thrilled by how good it looks in Blade Silver, a not-so-common color that works extremely well on the sleek Stingray shape. It's modern and sophisticated and doesn't make a fuss like the red and yellow and orange ones do. We went over the car pretty carefully and can't find but one or two tiny stone chips behind the wheels and maybe one on the nose—it has lived a really easy life with someone who cared. It's about as close as you can get to a brand new 10-year-old car.

Inside a C7 Corvette is a pretty nice place to hang out, with high-grade leather, supportive bucket seats, and just about every comfort and convenience feature you could imagine. It's seriously fast and geared towards the serious business of driving, but if you want to eat up a whole lot of pavement, the Stingray does it better than almost anything else. Everything obviously works, including ice cold A/C, those cool digital gauges, and all the electronic toys built into the entertainment system. The automatic transmission is quick enough that there's no performance advantage to the manual gearbox, and this car is so easy to drive that anyone can get in and take advantage of its performance. The leather seats remain in excellent conditions, the carpets are protected by heavy-duty mats, and even though the roof comes off, there's no sign of UV damage on any of the soft surfaces. The Corvette is even a little practical, with a good-sized trunk that'll carry plenty of gear for a weekend trip and it, too, is outfitted with a heavy-duty liner. The Corvette really is the car that's good at everything.

Power comes from a 6.2 liter LT1 V8 that's a variation on the legendary LS, and grunts out well over 400 horsepower to make performance more than entertaining. Keep the traction control engaged until you've familiarized yourself with its limits, which are considerably higher than most any other car you've driven. It's also docile, with easy starts, a nice idle, and as I mentioned, decent fuel economy. As I mentioned, the engine bay is completely stock and extremely clean with plenty of evidence of proper maintenance throughout. The 6-speed automatic transmission is a great partner, making insane performance easy to access and the tall overdrive gives it great highway manners. The all-independent suspension is quite capable yet rides nicely, and Corvette brakes have always been substantial. You'll also appreciate GM's state-of-the-art traction and stability control programs that are still among the best in the world. The undercarriage looks almost new with no signs of inclement weather and the exhaust has a nice bark without getting annoying. And those gorgeous aluminum wheels are outfitted with 245/40/18 front and 285/35/19 rear Michelin radials with lots of life left in them.

Documentation includes the factory manuals and books, window sticker, and build sheet.

Fast, comfortable, reliable, and even a little practical, the Corvette really is a great all-around package. With new C8s costing three times as much, why not take a closer look at a C7 Stingray that really is proof that evolution improves the breed. Call today!
