1949 Chevy 1/2 Ton, Short Box, 5 Window Cab, 4x4 pickup.
Now here is an unusual rig. Someone has done a boat load of work on this pickup. First they installed 4x4 axles and transfer case on the original pickup frame. So if you don't want the 4x4, it would be easy to change it back. Second, they installed a big 261 Chevy 6 cylinder engine, in place of the original 216 (6 cyl). The guy I got this truck from says the transmission is a 3 spd, and is not the original transmission. Has be converted to a 12 volt system, remote oil filter, alternator, new key switch, and more. The body on this truck is really clean. Has one very small spot of rust out. This truck is a solid 99% rust out free body. Has some small dents in the body, (one above the drivers door on cab), but nothing bad. Wood in the floor of the box will need to be replaced. Has a set of bucket seats just sitting in the cab, (not mounted). Does have some cracked glass, but flat glass is easy to get at your local glass shop. Nice chrome grille. Straight box, fenders, and tailgate is even pretty darn good, and rust free too! Tires are fair. The 261 engine runs great, but will need a fuel pump (we suggest electric fuel pump), and carburetor work. I hooked an outside gas tank up and got it running, but I did not drive it, as the brakes need to be bled. With a few days, and not a lot of money, this truck could be up and running. It has a lot of potential, and for the right person, the perfect rig to finish.
