The 1957 model of Ford's iconic Thunderbird was by far the most popular Thunderbird model up until that point, with Ford producing 21,380. Of those 21,380 Thunderbirds, Ford produced 1,499 "E-Birds" which are those with an E-Code VIN number meaning that they came with Ford's 312 Cubic Inch V8 engine paired with Dual 4 Barrel Carburetors. The E-Birds with their upgraded powerplant produced 270 horsepower, which was significantly more horsepower than the standard Thunderbird V8s.
