1986 CHEVROLET CORVETTE GLASS TOP COUPE

1986 Chevy Corvette 2 owner car with only 17,000 miles. 350 V8, 4 speed manual with OD. Purchased new in 1986 at Valenti Chevrolet in Wallingford, CT., the second owner, who bought her in 1987 with about 9,000 miles on her, was also in Wallingford. The car was parked in the early 2000's with a fuel pump issue, which was addressed with a new fuel pump, but the car stayed parked, and as the owner unfortunately fell ill, the car stayed in the dusty barn. Recently, the family has decided it's time for her to find a new home. Despite the low miles, her time in the barn, covered in dust, was not beneficial. She will start and run... for about 10 seconds, give or take and then just idles down and shuts off. The paint is in very nice condition, except for the clear coat on the right rear quarter, where it has hazed over. This will disappear with a color correction/color sand and some buffing. The leather interior is in very good condition. however, just the few miles in the sun have dried out the rear carpets and they're a bit powdery. A good deep clean/detail will definietly help the interior. A couple of weeks ago the car was running for longer than just a few seconds and in that time, things like the lights, gauges, heat/AC, radio, power seats, power windows, rear hatch release, power mirrors, horn, etc. were all checked and all worked. This car also has the dark tinted, removable glass roof, so she's sort of like a convertible. The tires have all aged out and one of them sat flat for so many years that it dry rotted and won't hold air, hence the spare in the photos. All 4 original wheels are present and accounted for. The new generation C4 Corvette was lauded for it's handling and technical prowess, however, it's overall performance and appearance didn't get rave reviews. I have seen several classic cars fitted with these chassis and even a rat rod had one tucked under a chopped top 31 Essex 2 door sedan body, with the emissions crap removed and some added performance bits added, these will perk right up. This chassis is in very good condition, no rust, just cobwebs. One might ask why the family doesn't spend some money and get her running, paint corrected, etc. They don't want to spend any money on her and would like her gone sooner than later. Someone who's a bit handy around the garage will have this car running beautifully and looking even better in under a weekend. The family is asking $6800 for her. Any questions, for many more photos and video, to set up a time to see her or to make an offer, please don't hesitate to contact me. Thank you for the interest.
