Largely Unrestored Example Ferraris First Mid-Engine Road Car Less than 39,000 Original Miles An Unusually Original Dino Recently Serviced 2,418 CC DOHC V-6 Engine Triple Weber DCNF 40 Carburetors 195 BHP at 7,600 RPM 5-Speed Manual Gearbox 4-Wheel Disc Brakes 4-Wheel Independent Wishbone Suspension with Coil Springs This original example of Ferraris beloved Dino, the marques first production mid-rearengine road car, is presented in appealing, well-preserved condition. This car was equipped and completed by the factory in February 1972 as a US-export example with instruments in miles. Initial appointments included power windows and a tan leather interior, while the exterior was originally finished in Marrone Metallizatto paint. While this Ferraris original owner is unknown, in 1973 the car was acquired by its second owner, Dr. Bruce Kramer of Rockford, Illinois. Seven years later, displaying 21,000 miles, the Dino was advertised by Dr. Kramer and soon sold. The new owner retained possession for 14 years before consigning the car to Continental Motors in Hinsdale, Illinois. Then showing 33,000 miles, the Ferrari passed to Karam Automotive in Pennsylvania, who then sold it one year later. By January 2000, this beautifully unblemished Dino had come into the collection of David Scaife of Pennsylvania, at which point the car featured a replacement wood-rimmed steering wheel, and the odometer displayed just 34,825 miles. Traded by local dealers a handful of times over the following few years, this Ferrari continued a pattern of minimal use, cementing its ever-growing appeal as a fundamentally original, unrestored example. In December 2003, displaying 36,660 miles, the Dino was purchased by Roger Gallet, a collector who, in a separate 2006 transaction, acquired the cars original factory warranty card, thus significantly enriching its documentation. Few unrestored Dinos feature such careful preservation, and this modestly used example is among the finest. It has gently aged leather interior continues to emit a warm and charming patina. It is still outfitted with its original smog equipment and is accompanied by its original manuals, tool kit, and jack. The need for strong original representatives has never been more pressing, and this correct example will surely draw great acclaim, whether on the street or the concours field. This is a well-preserved example of a groundbreaking mid-engine Ferrari.
