All Roads Lead, This Labor Day Weekend, To Auburn, Indiana
The 6th Annual Auburn Auction To Headline Festival Events

Auburn, IN. August 19, 2013. A week of motorcar festivities and celebrations are set to begin at this year’s Auburn Cord Duesenberg Festival, including the 6th Annual The Auburn Auction, to be held on Saturday, August 31, 2013 at the National Auto & Truck Museum (NATM), in the Museum District. The Festival brings thousands of motorcar enthusiasts out for the traditional Labor Day weekend. Saturday’s auction, held by Worldwide Auctioneers, is set in one of the most historic automotive sites in the region – the L29 Cord building located inside NATM.

Highlights of this year’s auction include a 1933 Auburn Twelve Custom Phaeton Sedan. Body by the Limousine Body Company of Kalamazoo, Michigan, it is one of only 41 examples produced in total for 1933 – 1934. It is an Auburn Cord Duesenberg Club Category One Certified Original, and a CCCA Grand Classic Premier Award winner, and formerly part of the famed Harrah Collection. Also to be auctioned off is a 1934 LaSalle Convertible Coupe. A stylistic and engineering benchmark, this LaSalle includes handsome art deco accents, beautiful Concours – quality restoration, and was formerly owned by noted collector, Lee Herrington. A 1966 Porsche 911 SWB will also be part of the evening. This highly desirable

short-wheelbase is a first-generation Porsche 911. Accompanied by Porsche Certification of Authenticity, this Porsche is a matching numbers example with striking authenticity.

Part of the evening’s stellar offerings include the 1909 and 1910 Winchester Motorcycles - both the only known examples. Winchester Repeating Arms Company had a solid reputation, and was one of the most recognizable brands in the world in the early 1900s. The 1910 is a single-cylinder vertical engine, 6 HP, with front leaf spring suspension, and is accurately and exceptionally restored. The 1909 is a single-cylinder vertical engine, 6 HP, with front leaf spring suspension, all-steel frame and was formerly of the Marion Dietrich Collection. Both of these examples are historically significant and ready to be added to any collection. This year’s auction will also offer, at No Reserve, a private collection of motorcars belonging to Bob Reverman.

This year’s auction returns for its second year at the National Auto & Truck Museum. The success of last year’s inaugural event netted the Museum considerable new audience and monetary contributions. The Museum has had a complete facelift and visitors will find the Museum District is going through a revitalization process. “It’s amazing to see what one year has done to the area,” noted John Kruse, partner and auctioneer with Worldwide Auctioneers. “The Auburn Cord Duesenberg Museum will be opening their new Conservation Center building during the week. The National Auto & Truck Museum has had a major makeover and visitors to both museums will see the changes. It’s a great time to visit and join in the festivities.”

Preview day for the auction is Friday, August 30, 2013 from 9am to 6pm and beginning Saturday, August 31 at 9am. Auction begins at 6pm. For more information, or to register to bid, contact Worldwide Auctioneers at 800.990.6789.
