Ringbrothers 890 HP 1969 Camaro with 416ci LS3: Wins the SEMAs Battle of the Builders

More SEMA Projects! Ringbrothers 1969 Mustang Mach 1 1984 Mopar Rampage with Mid-Engine 392 Hemi During the SEMA Shows 2019 Ignited afterparty, Jim and Mike Ring received the coveted title of Battle of the Builders winners with their 1969 Chevrolet Camaro named Valkyrja. For several years, these guys have been ever so close to clinching the title but came up short. Youd be hard pressed to find any fault on this Camaro, which was parked majestically on a raised platform next to the line of show cars rolling out of the convention halls. Perhaps not as extreme a build as previous ventures like the Javelin from SEMA 2017 , the simplistic theme of the car cloaks the technological prowess in its core featuring a combination CAD-designed, CNC-machined, and 3D-printed parts made of advanced carbon materials. The name of the car is spelled in the old Nordic version of Valkyrie, which in the ancient language, translates to the mythical female figures who chose the fates of those men who lived and died in battle. The name was chosen by its Belgian owner and is appropriate for a car boasting a whopping 890 hp with a 416ci LS3 built by Wegner Motorsports with a 2.9L Whipple blower on top. Bowler beefed up the Tremec six-speed transmission to handle the power and products like Detroit Speed suspension, Baer brakes, Flowmaster exhaust, and a Johns Industries rear end support the chassis, making this classic monster a usable and safe road car. We try and top ourselves every year, and this build was no different, said Mike Ring, co-owner of Ringbrothers. This build was unlike anything we had attempted before, both in design and execution. The result is a car with a classic look but entirely modern underpinnings, materials and technology. It's the perfect mix of style and performance. Though they were up against some stiff competition, the Ring brothers joyfully accepted their awards from presenters Tanner Foust and Adrienne Janic with words from Chris Kersting, president and CEO of SEMA.
