The next Need for Speed game will not be released until the latter part of 2022 at the earliest. That douses any hopes that the game would still come out in its original 2021 schedule. But thats not happening anymore, and the reason is the new Battlefield video game. According to reports, Electronic Arts has directed Criterion Games to pause the development of the new Need for Speed game so that it could help fellow E.A. subsidiary DICE in finishing the new Battlefield title.
