2021 Range Rover Evoque First Look: Chic SUV Gets Techier

Land Rover pulled the sheet off the all-new second-generation Range Rover Evoque just last year, but it's already updating its style-forward compact SUV. Among other things, the 2021 Range Rover Evoque receives Jaguar Land Rovers new Pivi Pro touchscreen infotainment thats said to be faster and more responsive than the unit it replacesa feat, it must be said, that would not be difficult to achieve. For 2021, the Range Rover Evoque is offered in five trim levels, with the base Evoque S P250 starting at $44,350 and the range-topping Evoque R-Dynamic HSE P250 priced from $54,450. As before, a turbocharged 2.0-liter Ingenium four-cylinder good for 246 horsepower and 269 lb-ft of torque comes standard. But now thats the only powertrain on offer, as Land Rover has stripped the P300 mild hybrid option from the lineup. That variant used the same 2.0-liter turbo-four paired with an electric motor and 48-volt electrical system, which yielded a combined output of 296 horses and 295 lb-ft. Land Rover says the P300 was dropped to ease the decision-making process for Evoque customers. All Evoque models come standard with a nine-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive. The big news is the aforementioned Pivi Pro infotainment thats spreading across Land Rovers model range . The system comes standard on all Evoques and takes advantage of the new electrical architecture that debuted on the 2020 Land Rover Defender , which is said to be future-proofed to allow the adoption of next-gen driver-assistance and convenience features. The electrical architecture also includes two Qualcomm LTE data modems, including one dedicated solely to over-the-air software updates and another focused on streaming music and apps. Meanwhile, Snapdragon processors and a QNX operating system improve speed and responsiveness. Inside, new 2021 Range Rover Evoque bits include a three-spoke steering wheel with capacitive-touch switches, USB-C ports, an optional wireless charging pad, standard satin chrome seat switches, and available satin chrome paddle shifters. Freshly adopted exterior colors include Portofino Blue and Lantau Bronze, and theres also a new 18-inch split five-spoke wheel design in gloss black. And yes, you can still get your Evoque with 21-inch wheels if you so choose. --> Also coming online for 2021 is an available Advanced Cabin Air Filtration system, which is claimed to screen out particulates as small as 2.5 microns. When set to Purify mode, the system will automatically turn on when its sensors detect allergens above a certain level. In addition, every Evoque now comes with a surround-view camera and can be equipped with driver-assistance features like rear collision monitoring.
