1969 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray 1969 Chevrolet Corvette L88
Tuxedo Black over Saddle. Factory L36 427/390 convertible. The original motor that came in it is still with the car. What you drive is a date-code-correct '69 427 - 512 block, GM snowflake heads - professionally built as an L88 should be: 505 cubic inches, 12.0:1, solid lifter. 580 hp on 93 Octane; 610 on 105. The original TH400 was rebuilt for that power, 2,800-stall and a shift kit. The original rear end is now loaded with 4.10s. Muscle Car Era hardware, endurance-race intent, street manners if you want them. The livery is Randy Wittine's 1970 Daytona scheme for Tony DeLorenzo and Dick Lang's Owens Corning #6. White and red hood, Pegasus, red strobes from the stinger to the decklid, white peaks and tail, red pinstripe, wheel-well eyebrows, removable ""6"" meatballs and the period sponsor work. Paint, not a vinyl wrap. Four-inch chrome side pipes. VTO Mini-Lites. New white-letter T/As. That exhaust note is the whole point of the car - deep, afterburner percussive, and even enough to settle you down once you are in it. It looks and sounds like the car that went to the 24 Hours because that is the car it was built to be. Body off. Frame stripped, dipped, powder coated. New tank, new lines. Suspension is stock layout, rebuilt, with the competition pieces that belong here. Big brakes to match. The Wilwood master is the one modern tell. Everything else is meant to be used. North of $200,000 invested in this effort. The shakedown is finished. Keep the original 427 with it, drive this one, and you have a finished '69 big-block convertible in the most recognizable Corvette race colors of the era, with 600 hp when you want it.
