1969 Porsche 911 T Targa Soft Window
The Porsche 911 introduced in 1963, was developed as a more powerful, larger and more comfortable replacement for the Porsche 356. In 1967, Porsche introduced the more powerful 911 with the distinctive 5-leaf design alloy wheels. The Targa version, with a stainless steel-clad roll bar, removable roof panel and a removable plastic rear window appeared also in 1967. The Targa name was derived from the Targa Floris road race in Sicily. The 911 is notable for being rear engine and air cooled. In 1999, the Porsche 911 came in fifth in an international poll determining the “Car of the Century”. The Targa model was manufactured between 1967 and 1973. In 2014, this Porsche underwent a full frame-off restoration including the engine and drivetrain, top end, 2 Weber carbs, brakes and lines, front and rear suspension. The beautiful base coat in a Tangerine color is flawless as is the clear coat. This car also boasts a luxurious black leatherette interior. The Fuch wheels have been restored but are original to the car. We have file photos showing complete restoration of this car. The soft window model was only offered for three years, from 1967 to 1969. In 1969 there were approximately 250 produced. This is hands down the finest example we have seen. A true icon!
