1962 OLDSMOBILE NINETY-EIGHT 2-DOOR HARDTOP

1962 Olds 98 2-Door Hardtop in beautiful Cameo Cream with a Provincial White top and a silver brocade interior; excellent condition N. Carolina car. The original 394 engine and SlimJim Hydramatic transmission have been replaced with a 1971 Olds 455 four barrel engine and its Turbohydramatic 400 automatic transmission (one of the best & most powerful Olds engines & strongest transmissions ever produced). Starts right up and settles into a smooth idle with a quiet exhaust note from the chrome tipped duals. The engine was rebuilt to factory specs and retains the correct Quadrajet four barrel carburetor, original intake manifold, and original cast iron exhaust manifolds. Runs perfectly on pump gas and there are no mechanical issues; no smoke, no leaks, no noises. Has loads of torque, happily burbles along at highway speeds, and has incredible acceleration when you floor it. Of course, being a 98, effortless power steering, big power brakes, and a smooth supple ride. The interior is 100 factory original and in immaculate condition. The tri-color silver brocade & vinyl 6-way power seats are exceptionally comfortable and have no wear or marks. Power windows and power vent windows; all operate smoothly and properly. Factory air conditioning; cycles correctly but does not blow cold. Factory signal-seeking WonderBar radio with the pushbutton foot control, factory rear speaker, and factory power antenna; works & plays perfectly and sounds good. Two speed power rear defogger. Automatic headlight dimmer. Excellent original door panels, beautiful original dash, excellent original steering wheel with no cracks. All gauges work correctly and their chrome bezels and the chrome dash trim is bright & shiny. Excellent original carpets and a new headliner has been installed. Extremely nice and very luxurious interior. Perfect all original body with no dents, no dings, no waves, and I cannot find any body filler or repair panels. Always a southern car (originally Florida then N. Carolina); never rusted or wrecked. Panel fit is factory perfect and has never been apart. Gorgeous paint in correct Cameo Cream with a Provincial White top; done to high standards and a very attractive color combination. Excellent chrome bumpers front & rear. Excellent brightwork and stainless steel trim with no pitting and no discoloration (the tail panel, tail light bezels, front grill, side vents, door handles, dual side mirrors, etc. are all perfect). Excellent glass and all windows operate smoothly. Excellent weatherstripping, window whiskers, and trunk seal. The trunk contains the original trunk mats, original jack assembly, and the original spare tire. All four of the headlights are the original T3s. Original steel wheels with the correct deluxe hubcaps and correct whitewall radial tires. Just professionally detailed, polished, hand waxed, and turnkey ready for cruises and shows. Definitely a show quality car; runs & drives perfectly and a pleasure to cruise in. VERY VERY NICE.

Price: $18,000.

1958 AUSTIN HEALEY BUGEYE SPRITE

1958 Austin-Healey Sprite Mk I Thin Pillar Roadster in gorgeous Sapphire Blue with a black interior, black convertible top, and Minilite wheels. Extremely nice car from California with only 11,852 indicated miles. 1958 is the first year for the Bugeye and the first ones were built with the thin painted windshield pillar before the advent of the later thick aluminum windshield brace. This is one of those early cars which has spent its life initially in Hawaii then California. The original twin carb 948 cc engine is completely stock and has been fitted with a period correct finned aluminum valve cover and new chrome air cleaners. Fires right up and settles into a smooth idle with a deep exhaust note from the stainless steel exhaust system. There are no mechanical issues no smoke, no leaks, no noises and runs nicely on pump gas. The four speed smoothcase transmission shifts perfectly and the factory gearing allows relaxed 65 mph cruising. Pulls nicely through the gears and is a joy on country roads. The clutch has been replaced and front disc brakes fitted along with a later Sprite dual master cylinder assembly with separate reservoirs for the brakes & the clutch.  Very nice interior with a new full carpet kit and a padded dash. The original seats are in excellent condition and the original steering wheel has no cracks. The dash has been recovered with padded naugahyde and all of the original instruments (Speedometer, Tachometer, Fuel Level, & Oil Pressure/Water Temperature) work properly. The windshield wipers also work properly as do all of the lights, turn signals, horn, and the heater & fan. The insides of the doors has been nicely carpeted and new interior door upholstery installed. Quick release shoulder harnesses have also been installed. Extremely nice body with no dents, no dings, no waves, and no signs of damage. The only filler that I can find is where the rear bumper attachments have been filled (the front bumper on these cars was an afterthought and looks so bad that it must be removed the rear bumperets are questionable!). The frame & underside is the original factory panels, still has a thin layer of the factory sound deadening, and has been finished in chassis black. Very nice paint in Sapphire Blue with no nicks, no chips, and has been block sanded and buffed to a deep luster with a smooth finish. This is a beautiful color which glows in bright sunlight. The engine compartment is also correctly painted Sapphire Blue and the engine correctly painted Moss Green. Brand new chrome grille, brand new chrome driver's side mirror, brand new chrome rear view mirror, brand new chrome headlight bezels, and brand new tail light lenses. A steel tilt front end has been installed allowing easy access to the engine compartment. Brand new 13 x 5 Minilite wheels with chrome center caps and chrome lug nuts have been installed and are fitted with excellent Pirelli P4 155-80-13 radial tires. The removable convertible top, tonneau cover, and side curtains are with the car and the trunk also contains the spare tire and jack assembly. Just professionally detailed, polished, hand waxed, and ready for shows and top-down cruising. Bugeyes are just flat-out fun to drive. Very nice car!!     Upgrades include: steel tilt front end, disc brakes, dual master cylinders, stainless steel exhaust system, Minilite wheels, and shoulder harnesses.  The original steel wheels and chrome hubcaps are included.  See additional pictures and our other interesting inventory at www.sportscargallery.com.

1951 MERCURY SUICIDE-DOOR STREET CUSTOM

1951 Mercury suicide-door street rod in beautiful Dark Maroon with a tan interior, rear skirts, lake pipes, tribar hubcaps, wide whites, dummy spots, continental kit, etched windows, and rear mural. Gorgeous Florida car with the original flathead V8 engine, three speed manual transmission, and in show-ready condition. The flathead V8 is factory original, fires right up, and settles into a smooth idle with that burbling exhaust note they are noted for especially with Smithy mufflers. Pulls strongly through the rev range, runs perfectly on pump gas, and there are no mechanical issues no smoke, no leaks, no noises. The manual transmission shifts perfectly and the factory 3.25 rear allows relaxed cruising. No power steering or power brakes but steers easily and stops just fine. Lovely custom interior done in two-tone tweed cloth and tan naugahyde. The seats front & rear were refoamed and then they, along with the interior door panels, the headliner, and the parcel shelf were all professionally & tastefully reupholstered. The dash is in excellent condition, all instruments work correctly, and a Blaupunkt AM/FM/CD stereo was installed. The original steering wheel is in excellent condition and the original shifter operates smoothly. Extremely nice interior. Perfect Florida body with no dents, no dings, no waves, and I cannot find any body filler or repair patches. The doors close perfectly, panel fit is factory perfect, and all gaps are correct. Stunning paint in Dark Maroon base/clear done to show standards and then block sanded & buffed to a smooth finish. Chrome is excellent and that massive chrome grille and chrome front bumper is awesome. Rear continental kit with the spare tire carrier, 'Precious & Few' roses mural, and extended dual exhaust. Chrome Lake side pipes. Rear skirts. Dual gutter-mounted mirrors. Dual dummy spotlights. Excellent glass with etched roses in the front vent windows (vent windows in the rear doors too). Excellent window whiskers, weatherstripping, and trunk molding. Inside trunk release and the spare tire pivots rearward to clear the trunk lid. The trunk contains the spare tire, jack assembly, and has been carpeted. Excellent factory steel wheels (with chrome deluxe tri-bar hub caps) fitted with new wide-white radial tires. Runs & drives perfectly and turnkey ready for cruises and shows. Last year of the magic Mercurys (1949, 1950, 1951) and a trophy contender at any show entered. VERY nice car.
