3RD ANNUAL IMPORT & DOMESTIC CAR, TRUCK, BIKE SHOW.

The 3rd annual Averill Park High School World Languages Department and International Clubs Import & Domestic Car Show will take place on Saturday June 1, 2024 at Averill Park High School 146 Gettle Road, Averill Park, NY 12018. Registration $10 day of show is from 9:00am until 11:00 and the show continues until 2:00. Our volunteer student judges coached by Hemmings Motor News professionals will be selecting the winning vehicles in 21 different trophy categories. Imported and domestic cars, trucks, and motorcycles, are all welcome. Registration proceeds will benefit senior scholarships for the World Languages Department. Car wash and food proceeds will benefit the International Club. The rain date is June 2.

BRITISH BY THE SEA

We are happy to announce the 36th annual CT MG Clubs British by the Sea Gathering to be held on June 2nd, 2024 at Harkness Memorial State Park in Waterford CT on the North shore of Long Island Sound. BBTS is a popular vote, fun event, with etched glass mugs being presented as awards. For 2024, we will have 32+ Classes, displayed on our 4-acre field. We want to encourage ALL British car, truck, and motorcycle owners and enthusiasts to attend and have an enjoyable time. Whether your vehicle is in pristine condition, or a daily driver, sparkling paint and chrome or with Barn Fresh patina, it deserves to be part of the event and on the display field. For this year, the Marque of the Year is Triumphs TR-7 and TR-8. Come down and enjoy the day mingling with other LBC owners, talk about cars, have a picnic, a glass of wine, and also take in all that the 240-acre Harkness Memorial State Park has to offer, such as the beach, the Mansion Eolia, and the Gardens. The CT MG Club donates a large amount of our proceeds from BBTS to the Park to purchase plants for the West Gardens, helping to restore the Eolia Gardens to their original grandeur as designed by Beatrix Farrand in 1919. In addition, we provide people power over a few weekends to plant them. We have selected a variety of quality food vendors to attend in order to satisfy any appetite, from coffee and pastry, hot dogs and hamburgers, lobster rolls, deli sandwiches and wood fired brick oven pizzas, to Ice Cream for dessert. You can also bring a picnic to enjoy and share out of the boot of your car. COLORADO ADVENTURE RALLY

Experience Colorado in the summertime with this week-long car rally that will take you and your rally partner on an adventure trip through the Colorado Rocky Mountains. No prior rally experience is required and any type of street legal car is welcome. Bring that car you love to drive and come explore the beauty of Colorado with us. Hosted by: Sports Car Club of AmericaRallymaster: Jim Crittenden The 2024 Colorado Adventure Rally is not a race. It is a time-speed-distance TSD rally, where the game is precision driving, maintaining an assigned average speed never above the legal speed limit, and arriving at multiple checkpoints at precisely the right time. You'll be assigned penalty points for being too fast or too slow at each checkpoint. Trophies will be awarded to the teams with the fewest penalty points. The rally route includes both paved and unpaved roads. Approximately 25 of the rally route is unpaved. All of the roads on the rally can be safely traversed by any street legal car. This is a Regional Tour rally so there are no tricks or traps, just easy to follow route instructions, gorgeous scenery, and roads that are great fun to drive. Colorado Adventure Rally Itinerary: Sunday, June 23, 2024: Rally from Denver to Glenwood Springs, CO. Check-in at Glenwood hotel for two nights.Monday, June 24: Free day for activities in Glenwood Springs. Each team consists of 2 people per car driver and navigator. 3. An Android or Apple smartphone. All checkpoint timing and scoring will be done by a free app the Richta Competitor GPS Checkpoint app that you'll run on your smartphone during the rally. This app will record your arrival time at each checkpoint and then immediately announce your score to you. 1 penalty point for each second that you are early or late You'll use this instant feedback to improve your rally driving skills as the rally progresses. 4. Drive safely and courteously at all times. Reckless or dangerous driving is cause for disqualification. Classes: Contestants should register in one of these two Classes. Calculating any means of calculating whether you are early or late is permitted in this Class. Rally computers, calculators, laptops, and rally apps are all permitted in the Class. Not calculating no means of calculating whether you are early or late is permitted in this Class. Contestants may only use their speedometer to estimate where they are with respect to being on time. Navigators will not/may not perform any math. Note that the Richta Competitor app that everyone will use for checkpoint timing and scoring will provide feedback on how early or late you are at each checkpoint.
